Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from that period of 2023.

Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He saved 4 initial chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
